Here we have a fabulous Haviland (H&Co) Limoges round covered vegetable bowl. It is very beautiful and unusual, dating to the 1870's - 1880's, and featuring wonderfully artistic hand painted designs of nature; songbirds, twigs, branches and flowers. The antique porcelain is of the pure white so well done by Haviland with a pink wide band. The finial and handles are braided and edged with gold as well as having thin bands of gold throughout both bowl and lid. The piece is really a work of art. Pattern - Meadow Visitors, on Blank 211 It measures 10 1/2" handle to handle, and is 8" wide, and stands about 4" tall.It is in excellent condition and free of any chips, cracks, scratches or repairs. Interior shows no utensil marks. Very slight rub marks on sides. Marked with underglaze green mark D, dating 1876 - 1886 and decorating mark G, dating 1879-1889 Sets like this are increasingly rare and hard to come by.
