After years of collecting I just learned from my wife that I am about to be a father and since I have a baby on the way, I have decided to liquidate my Morgan Silver Dollar collection. The cool thing about my collection is that unlike most Morgan Silver Dollar collections that were built using flawless GEM BU coins that are priced at $100s of dollars the Morgan Dollars in my collection have the “wear and aura of human contact and history.” Unlike those other GEM BU dollars that sat in Government bank vaults doing nothing, my coins were actually used by the everyday people who built America, in common everyday activities like Poker Games in the Wild West or to pay an immigrant factory worker for a day’s wages in the East.Even if you (like most mainstream collectors) prefer Morgan Dollars in GEM BU condition, my coins are priced to accommodate “working class” Americans like myself and at less than $40.00 for most dates, they are both a cool way to own a little bit of silver in uncertain economic times and a chance to own a historical reminder of a time when an American dollar was worth a big hunk of silver as opposed to an American Dollar today which is basically a worthless piece of paper.
