1880 Presidential Campaign ribbon for the Greenback Labor party.
/wiki/Greenback-Labor_Party Very old and I'm assuming pretty rare, I believe it to be the same ribbon listed in this auction ( /ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=28004764062 ) which as you can see went for quite a bit. I know that auction's pictures don't work, I've tried contacting the seller but he has yet to answer me, but the description is spot on with this one as you can see. It is in suprisingly good shape for something that is at least 127 years old. It is a little weatd and one or two of the tassle things at the bottom may be missing but over all the condition is pretty good I would say. T is a pin resembling an eagle with a seal as well that looks to be gold possibly? I am not sure of that, but it is included. (see pictures) I've had a fair amount of trouble determining the value of this thing but my knowledge of these items is very limited. Item is set with no reserve to reflect this, perhaps you can make a little money off it by getting a deal ? :) If you have any questions or anything please feel free to contact me via e-bay. One last note for those of you that may be weary of my "feedback" you'll notice I have one negative feedback but it is from someone I BOUGHT from that was a total disaster, so please do not let that discourage you. Shipping will be USPS or whatever you would like if that doesn't work for you. I would guess it to be no more than $3-5 for the continental US but this can all be sorted out once the auction is over. Unless you live outside the U.S. (continental states) I will probably do free shipping, depending on your situation. Payment could be through paypal or cashiers check/money order. I will contact you when you win the auction and ask your preference as soon as possible or you can reach me first. The TEXT on the ribbon reads as follows: GREENBACK LABOR NOMINEES [PHOTO] [PHOTO] (GEN. JB. WEAVER)(COL. BJ CHAMBERS) FOR PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT 1880 Please click on thumbnails for a much larger picture! is another link to a PDF file with a scan of the ribbon as it has came to my attention that the pictures are not the best quality...this is much better
