Antique Etching Wow! This auction is for an absolutely wonderful, very old original etching by an artist named Charles Volkmar. Volkmar lived from 1841 to 1914 and was very well known for his pieces. This particular piece is titled On the Patapsco River and it is signed by Volkmar and was published by Fishel, Adler & Schwarly in New York probably around 1890 or earlier. This amazing piece is in the ORIGINAL frame, which is a piece of art by itself. Altogether, this piece measures about 36½" x 17" and is a wonderful piece of turn of the last Century art. The Patapsco River is located in Central Maryland. In excellent condition with some minor discoloration from the wood on the back. It could easily be preserved better and cleaned up a bit. As it is, it is ready to be hung and enjoyed! Great old piece! Bidder pays $16.00 for shipping and handling via FedEX Ground. International bidders please email me for shipping cost.
