Size is 18" Long tomahawk + 16" drop overall, is 32".
This Pipe tomahawk has killer patina, great old square shank tacks, with file burns up and down the haft. It has a typical mid 1800's iron head with carving file marks and an etched cross. The head shows native applied decorations all over it, in person they read alot better than in the photo. T is carving and file marks on the blade, the bowl, and the top of the head. The best part of the carvings is the morning star or cross design. Has a very impressive quill drop with twisted fringe and signs of yellow ochre. The quills are fastened down with twisted sinew and are colored with early natural dyes. The haft is not drilled typical of the Crow Tribe and the Plateau Indians. The tacks are all original it has been looked at by several experts and t is no question of it's authenticity. Good luck!
