1880's Victorian Vaseline Opalescent NAILSEA Art Glass Duplex Oil Lamp Product Description Extraordinary circa 1880's oil lamp. A very seldom seen vaseline opalescent Nailsea pattern. A true survivor in so much as all three segments are original, matching blown glass sections, i.e. not a marriage. One rarely sees this type lamp with it's original matching chimney, or shade and font for that matter. The pattern is a well executed array of arching ribs. The shade gallery end and chimney burner collar end are both rolled and fire polished as is the exterior of the font and shade, creating a supple smooth finish. The feet are reeded, curled, and hand applied to the font. The burner is a double wick "Duplex" type with a mechanical candle snuffer. This oil lamps is truly an asset to any discriminating collector of Victorian era oil lamps. Very seldom do you find these lamps in complete condition and this one is guaranteed to stir a great deal of interest and most likely be one of your focal pieces in the collection. CONDITION: Wonderful condition. Stunning yellow and opal color with a perfectly uniform pattern. No embedded ash or other anomalies within the glass.
