A FINE ANTIQUE FOLIO MAP FROM THE FIRST EDITION OF: RICHARD ANDREE'S ALLGEMEINER HAND-ATLAS HUNGARY / MAGYAR / UNGARN & CROATIA Published Leipzig: Verlag con Velhagen & Klasing. 1881. First Edition. This is an original 127 year-old map. We do not sell reproductions of any kind! Cartographer Richard Andree. Andree was one of the best known cartographers in Europe in the late 19th century. Early editions of The Times Atlas (London) were based on his work. For detailed information, see the Wikipedia article about Andree: /wiki/Richard_Andree Size / Format 12 " x 16" (61 cm x 40 cm). Folio map. No folds. The map is a high quality chromolithograph printed on very heavy paper -- the heaviest I've seen for a 19th century atlas. Condition The maps we're selling from this atlas are all in excellent condition. T is no foxing, t are no significant marks, and t are no tears. The maps are sturdy and will stand up well to shipping. Remarks This map is from an important German Atlas that had influence well beyond Germany's borders. This map from a true first edition, lavishly printed in Leipzig in 1881. Andree's maps and atlases are renown enough for Wikipedia to have a full article in English about them: /wiki/Andrees_Allgemeiner_HandatlasA scan of the entire map at about 0.5 X actual size, with a close-up scan at about 2 X actual size Shipping We ship using high quality clear-plastic acid-free bags, foam-core backing (and sometimes fronting as well, depending on the item), or rigid mailing tubes for larger items. We use Canada Post for most items and we are well-versed in all the rates and options for the U.S., Canada and Overseas. We add $1.00 - $3.00 (depending on the size of the item) to the actual cost of postage, to cover materials. T are no handling charges. Please consider this when rating our shipping charges in feedback. You can verify rates at: http://wwww.canadapost.ca Note that, since we are located in Canada, shipping to the U.S. takes longer than it does between two points within the U.S. We ALWAYS ship within one working day of receiving payment, and often ship the same day, so PLEASE do not give us a low feedback rating for 'shipping time.' If you require an expedited delivery, just let us know in advance and we'll present you with some faster (and more expensive!) options. Sellers' fees are now tied to 'star' feedback, which is a good thing, but we don't want to be penalized unfairly. We combine shipping at actual cost. Usually three or four similar items can be shipped for the price of one. T is no 'per item' charge. Delivery to the United States 5 - 15 working days. If two shipping choices are offered, the more expensive one is by air, and is generally 2-4 days faster than by ground. If only one choice is offered, it is the quickest possible at a reasonable price. Delivery Within Canada 2 - 8 working days. Smaller items are sent by letter mail, which is very economical. For larger items, prices vary depending on your location. We are located in Montreal, and the highest possible shipping rate is given in the listing. If you are in Ontario or Quebec, the rate will be significantly lower. Please do not pay until we invoice you so that we can adjust the shipping charge according to your location. Delivery Worldwide5 - 15 working days. This is always by air and the price is the same for all destinations. We ship to all countries, even though only a few may be specified by Ebay in the shipping section of the listing. Payment We prefer Paypal. If you would like to pay by another means, please contact us before bidding on the item. Payment is due within seven days of purchase and preferred within three days.
