Plon Et Cie, 1882. 1st Edition. Description: xv, 446 p. 24 cm. Bound in original cloth-backed marbled boards with a dark morocco gilt-blocked label. Condition: Quarter leather binding. Green marbled boards. About 9" x 6". 458 pages, with one page of advertisements. Binding is good although I note a crack between a front end page and the title page. . Foxing throughout. See photos. Diplomatic history of Franco-Russian relations focusing on the lifetimes of and relationship between Louis XV, King of France (1710-1774) and Elizabeth, Empress of Russia (1709-1762). Albert Count Vandal (7 July 1853, Paris — 30 August 1910, Paris) was a French historian, born in Paris. He wrote: En karriole � travers la Suède et la Norvège (1876), Louis XV et Elizabeth de Russie (1882), Ambassade française en Orient sous Louis XV (1887), Napoléon et Alexandre Ier (three volumes, 1894-97), awarded the Vaubert prize. Also Les voyages du Marquis de Noutel (1901), L'avènement de Bonaparte (1902).
