It's about as white a Morgan as you can track down in this or any date. Just gorgeous and sure looks better than a 63. The date is not an easy one either; there's a lower population of coins struck in 1883 in this condition than most Morgan dates. It's been graded and certified by the top 3rd party service in the numismatic business. They assigned it GEM MINT STATE 63 for the sharpness of the strike, the stunning eye appeal and the luster. The coin was graded and holdered by the top service in the world and is as sharp as you'll find in this date and grade. So few bagmarks and that's often the difference between grades. Note it has another feature which adds value to any certified Morgan: $$$ PRISTINE WITH ZERO SPOTS OR TONE $$$ ENTIRELY WHITE ON BOTH SIDES $$$ FLASHY, BRILLIANT, "BLAST" WHITE Collectors and investors trust a Morgan in PCGS holders since you know for sure it's not only uncirculated but the surface is both original and never cleaned or altered. That counts a lot when you buy and even more when the day comes to sell. If it's in a PCGS or NGC holder, there's no questions asked. If it's in a "baloney holder", good luck finding a buyer. This 1883 has superb brilliance, as good or better than many in higher grades. The fields even have mirror like quality. The coin is probably as white a blazer as you could hope to find from this date and a superb example of the 1883 mintage. It's a superior Morgan for this date, one known as a weak strike date.
