This Unique item is 123 Years Old. 1883
This came from an estate antique collectibles auction in northeast PA......I haven't seen a Unique one like this, & I have not ever seen a combination matchsafe & postal stamp holder, so I will describe it as best I can...It measures 1 3/4" Tall to the top of clasp x 1 1/16" wide x 3/8" Thick...This appears to be a combination Matchsafe Match Holder And a Postage Stamp Holder or storage box, as t is a STRIKER area on the bottom of the case which indicates the Match Holder matchsafe, and t is also Printing on the Front of the case on the upper top front " Edward J. Hauckis, Patent, AUG 14, 83... and on the bottom front is " Postage Stamp"... You can see this on the pictures..The clasp works good, it has a nice snap action, opens & closes good, Patina age wear & silver loss, nice antique vintage condition, normal ageuse wear.... Silver Metal with Good Design. A magnet does not stick to this. I do not know if this is silver plate or silver?Take a look at the url pictures, This item is better looking in person than on my url pictures. This would make a nice Christmas gift for any matchsafe matcholder or postal stamp collectors collection. Email me if you have any questions before you buy.
