RARE 1884 School Book "STEELE'S POPULAR ASTRONOMY" by J.D. Steele and updated by M.L. Todd , second edition 1899 published by American Book Company , New York. 350+ pages, indexed .This smaller textbook is a window to the knowledge of Astronomy at the turn of the century, with MANY illustrations, diagrams and star maps! Sections on History and the Zodiac, the Solar System and known planets, stars and consellations, telescopes and more. Very interesting reading! Good overall condition, pages show some yellowing and annotations. Pull-out constellation map has a tear. Embosse d blue leather cover in decent shape with some wear and discoloration , binding is tight.This came from our HUGE library of antiquarian books, with many rare and out-of-print titles that I will also be listing.
