1885 Crazy Quilt This is an amazing example of the crazy quilt fad that swept the country between 1876 and 1910. It measures 57" x 56". Fabrics are silk and velvet. The year 1885 is cross stitched in the center and t is a 134th Massachusetts Regimental ribbon patch, commemorating a loved one's Civil War service. This quilt has been displayed on a wall and t is a sleeve sewed to the upper back to accommodate a rod for hanging. The delicate silk fabrics are fraying and decaying but it's still an awesome record of the style. The embroidery on this quilt is just stunning. I've tried to show a few of the motifs with detailed photos, but t are many more. This comes from a non-smoking household and is guaranteed to be in the condition described.
