1887 Embroidered Crazy/Block Quilt Hand Stitched 6'x5' Antique Embroidered Quilt circa 1887 This quilt is simply gorgeous. It must be seen to be believed. The quilt is composed of exquisite fabrics, most of which is satin and velvet in many rich colors These pieces of fabric were embellished with a variety of hand-stitches. Stunning embroidery, including images of flowers, monograms, the year 1887, butterflies, etc. were sewn onto large shapes for accent. The flowers are truly magnificent! In some cases the embroidery extends beyond one piece of fabric.The year 1887 was also embroidered on the back side. A skilled craftsperson or several people have executed this wonderful work of art with loving hands. The quilt has many condition issues. T is much fraying around the brown satin border, and fraying has also occured on several of the interior satin pieces. Most of the hand stitching remains intact. The heavy brown cotton backing is in good condition with the exception of some staining. With a bit of repair work, this quilt would make a great heirloom to pass down, display, or to simply enjoy. Also, pieces of it could be used to apply to other quilts. The dimensions are 6 feet x 5 feet 4in. Shipping We pass shipping costs, including insurance costs straight through to our buyers. A packaging and handling (s&h) fee is included to cover the cost of materials and labor. Fees start at $.50 for envelopes and $2.00 for small boxes. Most s&h fees do not exceed $6.00 except for very large or heavy items requiring additional packaging and labor. Many items are available for quick shipping. For International buyers, we accept payment through verified PayPal accounts only. Winning bidders must contact us, checkout or pay for items within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Please notify us if you are requesting additional payment time to avoid an unpaid item strike. Photos We try to take all of our own pictures of items, but we sometimes rely on other sources. Our in-studio pictures are taken shortly before the item is listed. All item pictures display the actual goods for sale unless otherwise noted. We try to picture all pertinent details for the items such as condition, wear marks, damage, etc. Item photos generally show the entire item(s) offered, but item descriptions provide the only and entire information about the offering. If you would like to request additional photos, send us an email address w you can receive higher resolution pictures. We try to carefully inspect and/or test all of the items that we sell, and post the results of the testing in our description of the item.
