Very rare nickel plated over copper coffee pot dating between 1888 and 1900 as evidenced by the Rochester Stamping Works of Rochester NY mark on the base. Measures 8 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. Nice ornate and unusual coffee pot. Original black enamel wood handle with end caps and original black enamel wood lid knob. Handle, lid, and spout are all tight and firmly attached. Not loose. Fluted base and ornately angled pouring spout that looks Art Deco but this was made before the Art Deco period. Complete with hinged lid and in excellent condition for 115 years old. Retains 98% of its nickel plate and is strong, hole free and excellent. What a great item for display in your kitchen if you love coffee. Sensing a demand for high-grade cutlery, he decided to make it himself, forming a small company with a few employees manufacturing pocket knives. With the formation of this company, Mr. Robeson would travel around the state selling orders to keep manufacturing going for a week at a time1887 Business increased and Robeson Cutlery built a plant in Rochester , NY .1893 Due to increased sales M.F. Robeson built a small factory in Elmira , NY .1894 Because of bigger demand, an increased manufacturing capacity, and the need for more employees, the Robeson Cutlery Plant was moved to Rochester , New York .1900 Robeson Cutlery built another plant in Perry , NY . Product trade name was Robeson Shur-Edge Cutlery. Rochester Stamping Company 1888 Rochester Stamping Works was manufacturing tea kettles.1900 Rochester Stamping Company was formed from Rochester Stamping Works in order to increase its facility size and manufacturing capacity.1908 First electric percolators manufactured by Rochester Stamping Company1912 An advertisement in The Ladies Home Journal shows a picture of a covered serving piece consisting of a porcelain bowl in a nickel-plated holder. The mark indicated this porcelain bowl was manufactured by " Syracuse ." The History of Robeson Rochester Corporation 1922 Robeson Rochester Corporation was formed with the merging of Rochester Stamping Company and Robeson Cutlery in order to produce a full line of electrical items, including electric percolators, waffle irons, sandwich grills, fans, mixers, toasters and other appliances.1928 Robeson Rochester designed a new heating element for the electric percolators which revolutionized this phase of the industry at that time.1931 Royal Rochester line of "Royal China" was guaranteed "never to break, craze, or mar in any way from heat or cold or vise versa." Most popular items of this ware were casseroles, coffee percolators, coffee urns with creamers and sugars to match the sets, and waffle irons in sets or singly.1937 Robeson Rochester signed a contract with their employees' Protective Association representing 200 of its employees. Contract provisions included a 40 hour work week, time and one-half for overtime, seniority rights and a pledge that t would be no discrimination against workers affiliated with the union.1939 George W.
