WELCOME TO A BLACK RIVER ANTIQUES AUCTION Presenting for your consideration a wonderful 39 star silk American flag. Research on this piece indicates that it is from 1889. The Dakotas were initially going to join the Union as a territory. That never happened so this flag was never used. This flag measures 23 1/2" by 15." It has a couple small water spots that are barely visible. It also has two pin holes from being hung. It is unraveling slightly at the top left corner. T are two other small wear holes. T is a small amount of frayed fabric (maybe an inch) on the lower left corner. Even though this flag is showing its age, it displays very nicely and the colors are still good.
