One cabinet card out of a wonderful batch of real antique photos of Native Americans, circa 1880s & 1890s. These came from a friend's family and have not been on the market before. Other photos include Cheyenne and Kiowa people, a warrior holding a shotgun, various posed studio portraits with people in their best dress (including wonderful beadwork, trade silver, early jewelry, etc.). Wonderful historical details. Several of the photos are identified as being near Hammon, Oklahoma. An outstanding, rare batch of historical photographs! This image is a posed studio portrait of two men, clearly carefully dressed for the photo. Both men are wearing hats and scarves with silver scarf slides (the slides look like early trade silver) and, carefully dressed hair, each has wrapped braids. The man on the right wears silver earrings with chains and he holds a ladies' fan in his right hand. Trade goods? As a photo, this has good contrast and resolution. Written on the back of the card mount in pencil, "Kiowa Bucks." This is an early gelatin silver photograph, mounted on a card backing. The card measures 4 1/8" x just under 6 ½." The photo itself is 3 7/8" x 5". This photo is in good condition overall with surface wear, light scratches and soil. The card mount has notable stains on the sides and wear to all edges. This is not available as "Buy It Now." Feel free to email any questions and thank you for looking! And, please click on the eBay "ME" for the link to an unusual antique shop!
