Original hard to find lithograph pre-prohibition poster sign for the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Co. of St Louis, Mo. from around the late 1800's/turn of the century. It has a large image of 26 3/8" x 41.5" with overall framed size being 27.25" x 42.5" x 1" and has been professionally framed and mounted using plexi-glass and acid free backing. It is DRY mounted and NOT permanently glue or pasted down and was printed by the Crump 5 Color Label Press Co,N.Y. Multi-colored label has nice graphics of an Eagle in an Anheuser "A" standing on a 13 star United States red, white & blue shield, above the words Adolphus Busch & Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association. Label also shows that its brewery won Gold Medals in Philadelphia 1876 & Paris 1878. Overall poster message was to let people know, that all its brewery bottles had its label on them, as well as, all of their corks being branded with their brewery name, as well as a factory caution label. Condition: T is a 6.5" tear in the upper right corner at the "L" in Bottling, a 1" tear in the "O" of Own at top center, a 1.5" tear in the "E" in the word Bear above the CRUMP name, the lower right corner tip is missing, and it has a few minor wrinkles & age spots, but nothing serious. I was told that when it was mounted, the tears were placed tightly together without using any tape or glue, having no read more
