This listing is for the 1890's New Haven shelf or mantel clock shown,please see all photos.The clock is 14" across,about 15 and 3/4" with feet.It is 10" high,and the front to back measurement is 5 and 5/8" at top,and 6 and 3/4" at base.The cabinet is made of solid wood,painted finish is a faux marbelized design in cream and gray.Some of the finish is worn or scratched down to the wood,especially at top front edge and areas on top,a few rubs and t on other parts of the case.One of the lion's heads is loose and has scraped the finish back and forth on that side.T are no actual breaks,chips or cracks to the wood,and no repairs.The front left corner of top has a nick to the wood,not large enough to call a chip,as it is small enough to be sanded smooth again if clock is refinished.The clock was probably an ornate beauty in its time,with metal feet,lion's heads "door-knocker" medallions on each side,and small floral gold metal rosettes for trim.The hinged glass face opens to reveal an intact and clean dial and spade/fork hands,and shows keyholes at 12,8 and 4.The brass bezel shows discoloration,but is intact and unbroken.The glass has no chips,cracks,cloudiness or repairs.The dial is marked "made by the New Haven Clock Company,New Haven,Conn.,USA".The back of the clock case is black painted wood,metal plate is removed with screws shown. read more
