One cabinet card out of a wonderful batch of real vintage, antique photos of Indians, circa 1880s & 1890s. These came from a friend's family and have not been on the market before. Other photos include Cheyenne and Kiowa people, a warrior holding a shotgun, posed studio portraits in their best dress (including wonderful beadwork, trade silver, early jewelry, etc.), outdoor shots of teepees and groups of people in their best dress. Many of the photos are identified with names written on the back. Wonderful historical details including costume, clothing, beadwork, saddles, jewelry, etc. Several of the photos are identified as being near Hannon, Oklahoma. An outstanding, rare batch of historical photographs!

This is my favorite of the group of photos - a posed studio portrait of the family of Bobtail Wolf. This is the same family as the cabinet card photo currently up for auction of the woman with her son. This photo includes the father. These are handsome people, all carefully dressed for this portrait. The detail is terrific - look at their moccasins, her neckace and the man has mink wraps around his braids. No photographer's info but, written on the back of the card in pencil, "Bobtail Wolf & family, Cheyennes". T are no other photos of members of this family.

This is an early gelatin silver photograph on paper, mounted on a card. The card measures 6 ½" x 4 ¼". The photo itself is 5 ½" x 3 7/8". This photo is in very good condition overall with surface wear and light scratches. The card mount has a few stains and bits of surface loss, but overall, this is an outstanding piece.
