This is a fairly important photograph. It shows the water tower at the Insane Asylum in Massillon, Ohio. This was the first state hospital in the U.S. and was established in Massillon, Ohio by then governor William McKinley in 1892. The photo appears to show additional construction being done in the foreground. The asylum didn't open until 1898. The black spots on the photo appear to be part of the developing process as they are "in" the print and not "on" it. The square photo measures 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 and is mounted on a white card measuring 5 by 5 inches. On the back, written in pen, is "Water Tower Insane Asylum Massillon O". Historic piece, especially with its association with William McKinley before he became president. Be sure to see my other listings as I'm always happy to combine shipping on multiple wins!
