1890's Sterling Silver KMD Thimble With Damask Floweredno dings or dents, great condition. 1890's Sterling Silver Ketcahm & McDougall Damask Flowered Thimble. In the apex (inside top) is the trademark for Ketcham & McDougall. It is a large K with a small m and d on the sides. Below this it is stamped with STERLING. Around the band are the designs of Damask Flowered. Ketcham & McDougall called this thimble Damask Flowered because the background was supposed to resemble the ornamentation of damascened steel produced in Damascus from the Middle Ages. There is a space with engraving that looks like a banner (w #10). At the top is the size 10. Below is a beaded rim. There are many tiny holes around the side, The thimble is 3/4" tall, and the diameter of the opening is 1/2". it appears to be perfectly round.
