My mother, Edith, was a woman who truly loved beautiful things. She recently passed away at the age of 100...which had been her goal for the last 5 years. She had wonderful collections and I hope you find something that you will love as well. This is an esquisite vintage Wavecrest Bisquit or Cracker Jar. It dates back to about 1990. It was made by the C. F. Monroe Co. The glass jar has a wonderful square shape to it. It is unmarked. The lid and handle are silverplate. I love the shape of the handle. On the inside of the the lid there is the name Anna engraved. This lovely jar is handpainted with beautiful multicolor flowers. Each side is different. The design is truly esquisite. The jar itself is a soft yellowy color. There is just a little wear toward the bottom...but for being 120 years old I would say it looks great. The silverplate top is in great condition. I didn't polish it. There are no scratches, dents, or other imperfections in the silverplate. I love the bale handle on this jar. It has a lovely shape to it. The jar measures 5 1/2" across and 6" to the top of the jar. With the lid it measures 8" tall. With the handle up it is 11". This is a truly wonderful piece for any collector. Please remember these things are old and have been used and loved so they are sold "as is". Everything we list has come from my parents household of 75 years. Imagine 7 decades of living and that is what we have to offer. Please continue to watch for lots of everything. I do combine shipping for multiple sales...please let me know before paying.
