Fabulous Collectible! Great for theatre costuming or for a dressmaker who collects antique sewing tools. I've never seen another. Purchased in Camden, Maine, during late 1970s. Never displayed; always in storage.This is an amazing seven-piece brown cardboard set of templates for drafting women's dresses in the 1890s. Punched holes � re for different sizes and each piece has written directions for use. All pikeces are the rich brown shown in most of the photos. One photo is washed out from the flash. � Patented originally in 1879. This set is the last patent date (improved) on the pieces. Marked W.R. Williams Manufaturer and Proprietor, Lawrence, Kansas. The bodice front piece has an illustration of six of the seven pieces (collar missing in the illustration) plus a listing of patent dates beginning in 1879. � There are written directions plus a measuring illustration on woman's form on this piece. It is missing a small point at the upper right corner (broken off). The bodice back and sleeve pieces are each missing a corner. The photo following the grouping of bodice front and back and sleeve is a Skirt Rule, with lots of printed directions. Fourth photo details it's use.
