1893-S Key date Barber half dollar, PCGS graded VF-35. A pleasing and problem-free example of this much better issue, and thus a coin that is always in great demand. The PCGS Price Guide shows a value of $700 for this issue, but a few fairly recent auction results may provide a better gauge of this coin's true worth. PCGS graded VF-35 examples have sold right here on ebay for $1100 (8/2012), $1058 (4/2012) and $1580 (our own auction of a gem coin in 1/2012). We cannot find a Heritage offering of a similarly graded coin in "modern" times. Don't be shy if you hope to take this rarity home with you! PLEASE NOTE: estatecoinsales is now DavidKahnRareCoins.
