For your consideration, a great original piece of Naval History. Most celebrated Battle Ship of the Spanish-American War, the "Oregon" was also called the Bull Dog of the Navy. This 1893 off-white invitation is to the Launch of the Armored Coast Line Battle Ship "Oregon". Printed with a side elevation of the ship. In very good condition with some slight age spots. Invitation reads: The pleasure of your company is requested to witness the launch of the Armored Coast Line Battle Ship "Oregon" Thursday, October 26th, 1893 at 11:46 Present at gate Potrero Union Iron Works Christened by Miss Darsy Ainsworth represnting the State of Oregon and Miss Ruth Dolph representing the Navy. Launched by Miss Eugenia Shelby, representing the City of Portland. Please contact me with any questions prior to bidding.
