This graceful silver cream and sugar set was produced by George Nathan & Ridley Hayes (maker's mark "GNRH") in Birmingham (anchor), 1893 (date letter "t"). Both pieces rise from curving rectangular foot rings to half-fluted bodies with flaring, feathered rims flanked by angled loop handles. The creamer measures 3" high, 4.75" wide (handle to spout), 2.25" deep; the sugar measures 2.75" high, 6.062" wide (handle to handle), 2.25" deep. Both pieces bear the aforementioned marks as well as the lion passant (sterling). A marvelous gift, this set is offered by Chancery Lane Antiques for $630.
