A 3-part porcelain container with printed military scenes. I think this is from the First Sino-Japan War (1894-5). T are various Chinese soldiers having a hard time, some of them falling from the clouds... Japanese soldiers have guns, swords, and cannons. They are causing general havoc among the Chinese. On the lid is a Japanese battle flag and one soldier blowing a bugle. I'm not exactly sure what these containers were used for. It is probably a container for light snacks. In addition, t may be a third dish missing. I have seen other non-military ones similar to this with three compartments. However, the bottom two match in design (see the sun), so this may be a complete set. Fairly rare item. Note that this is a printed pattern. No chips or cracks on the bottom two, but t is a chip on the inside of the lid. The lid also has an indentation on the top, but it is a manufacturing error. Size: 11 cm tall and 9 cm across. Guaranteed 100% original pre-WW2 item. As I wrote above, this most likely dates to 1895-1896. Worldwide shipping and handling from Japan: $12.50. Shipping times: Regular airmail from Japan usually takes from 7 to 10 business days. However, t may be delays within the postal system and the shipping time could be longer. Please remember that I have no control over that. EMS (insured express shipping): Add $5.
