More about the Rockford Silver Co.

'The Racine Silver Plate Company, manufacturers of gold and silver plated ware, Britannia ware, cutlery, etc., was incorporated May 8, 1875, with an original capital of $20,000, which was afterward increased to $44,000, with authority to extend the same to $100,000.

Then came the fire of May 5,1882, that destroyed seven square blocks of Downtown Racine. Attempts were made to move Racine Silver Platesâe(tm) materials to a safe uptown location, but the fire spread too rapidly. In the end, all that remained of the business was a few walls, smokestack and piles of melted silver. The company wasnâe(tm)t rebuilt in Racine. The City of Rockford, Ill. wooed its owners to rebuild t and the name was changed to Rockford Silver Plate Co. Today the high quality products of this Silver Plate Co. are highly prized by collectors.'

This gorgeous classy teapot has a nice antique design handle and spout and base with leaf design. The opening of the teapot is octagonal with antique pattern at the rim. It has a round domed lid with flower shaped solid finial.

This classic silverplate pot is in beautiful, gently used condition, very shiny. It is very clean.

The spout has on the inside the tea/coffee strainer.

This set has no dents, no silver loss. The coffeepot lid has perfect hinges. The 4 extentions on the teapot are in excellent condition.

Please see all the pictures and observe the great condition of this set!

Notice the hinges on the pot are designed sideways so the lid does not open up when pot is tilted from the base.

The handle has the 2 black bakelite insulators which only quality vessels are provided with. The spout of the coffeepot suffered a little wear at the tip of the spout, but does not change the great condition this set is in, keeping in mind the Vintage.

The base/holder and the removeable warming-fluid container with snuffer are in beautiful condition as well.
