Doulton Lambeth Jug This Doulton Lambeth jug has the date mark for 1895 on the bottom along with two small case b's on the bottom and the impressed Doulton/ Lambeth/ England mark that used at that time. It has a drippy dark glaze around the top and bottom rims. The jug shows typical relief carving and incised decoration along with engine turning. One thing I learned is that the designs from this pottery are pretty much one of a kind as they did not make and keep patterns. As it is salt glazed t is a confluence of tiny bubbles on the top of the handle w it meets the rim, also sporadic spots of bubbles noticed on the shoulder of the jug. In the picture with the handle on the left side shows a factory fault--a tiny gouge towards the bottom of the handle. Other marks are just reflection. In fine condition, t is one tiny chip on the inside of the footrim on the bottom. No other chips or cracks. 5 1/2 inches high by 5 1/2 inches across including the handle.
