is beautiful, elegant, English, sterling and Mother Of Pearl set of knives and forks contained in mahogany, velvet fitted box. T are 6 of each of the knives and forks. Each knife and fork is marked with 4 hallmarks on the sterling collar. They are: the initials "A&D." for the maker, the King's crown, for Sheffield, England, the rampant lion mark for sterling, and lastly the date mark "d" for 1896, Each knife blade has a fancy pattern on one side, with three hall marks, the maker "A&D", the letter "S", and a hallmark that I can not make out. I do not know if the knife blade and fork tongs are sterling silver or silver plated. All 12 pieces have fancy, Mother Of Pearl handles with silver collars. The knives measure 7 3/4" or 20cm in length. The forks measure 6 1/2" or 16.5cm in length. The mahogany box has a brass shield on top. The interior of the box is fitted with wooden velvet. Inside the box is a tag that reads "supplied by, W.T. Story" "Barrow in Furness". T is no key. The maker: Charles James Allen and Sidney Darwin as partners in ALLAN & DARWIN of 55 Arundel Street Sheffield, England The condition overall, is very good. All the silver is in good repair. The MOP is also in excellent condition, with no chips or discolor. I have additional pictures that I can send, and would be happy tanswer any questions. T is no reserve on this 1896 antique English set. It is quite beautiful. Shipping anyw in the US via UPS Ground with full insurance is $25.00.
