The exhaustive title of Maude Cooke's 1896 etiquette manual is: "Manual of Etiquette or Social Forms, Manners and Customs of Correct Society containing Rules of Etiquette for all Occasions, including Calls; Invitations; Parties; Weddings; Receptions; Dinners and Teas; Etiquette of the Street; Home; Public Places; Etc., Etc. Forming a Complete Guide to Self-Culture--The Art of Dressing Well; Conversation; Courtship; Etiquette for Children; Letter-Writing; Artistic Home and Interior Decorations, Etc." Contains an introduction by Robert L. Blagg, A.M. and is "embellished with Superb Chromotype Engravings." This delightful volume, published by Lyons Brothers & Co, Cincinnati, Ohio, includes a list of Precious Stones and Their Language as well as a complete list of Flowers and Their Sentiments. Its brown cloth hardcover with embossed design is in very good condition with corner bumps and spine edge wear. No dust jacket. Several illustrations have been removed but remain present between the pages. The owner's name is written on the flyleaf and dated November 4, 1897, but the color presentation page is unused. 524 pages.
