1897 Queen Victoria Enamel Windsor Castle Enamel Beaker It is nearly impossible to find an undamaged example of these beautiful beakers.This example has only minor damage,all of which is easily restored.We have shown all four sides of the beaker, so that all the minor damage is visible. At the time these were produced,the majority were used as a normal drinking vessel. Many employers did not allow pottery cups to be used in the workplace. This enamel beaker was produced in 1897 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. Victoria had been on the throne of England for 60 years.The longest reigning British monarch. A record that still stands to this day. The entire surface of the beaker is decorated,and the decoration is in four panels.The principle decorations are a portrait of H.M. Queen Victoria wearing the small crown and mantilla.On the opposite side of the beaker it shows a view of Windsor Castle,which was the original family home of Queen Victoria at the time of her marriage. It is unusual to find the castle portrayed,most beakers having two portraits of the Queen. Between the portrait panels the other two areas are decorated with The Royal Coat of Arms and the 1897 Jubilee date,and in the other with The Imperial State Crown with the 1837 date.
