Sometimes I come across an item I like so much it becomes hard to make the decision to sell it. Such is the case i LOVE this piece. It is an original 1898 SPANISH AMERICAN WAR Chrmomlithograph. It is, obviously, a PRO AMERICAN piece as it shows a small boy dressed in sailor suit (his sailor hat lies upside down on the ground next to his left leg). He is clearly VERY DISTRESSED as he tears the Spanish Flag he is holding in his hands. (You can see that it is the Spanish Flag of the SPANISH AMERICAN WAR by comparing to the list of Spanish Flags below..note the flag shown as being used from 1843 to 1931 which matches the one pictured in the lithograph). His face is contorted with rage and you can almost hear him growling as he rips the flag to shreds. In the background t is a fort on a beachfront flying the American Flag overhead. The piece is aigned RUMMLER for ALEXANDER RUMMLER, American Painter. (see below) The lithograph is framed and measures 13 3/4" x 9 3/4". It is in excellent condition as shown. An awesome and historically relevant piece of 1890s artwork. List of Spanish flagsList of Spanish flags This is a list of flags used in Spain .
