For your consideration is an EXQUISITE Victorian 1898 LONDON Sterling & Celluliod CHERUB PAGE TURNER/BOOKMARK! Piece measures about 16" long & the widest part (end/hilt) measures about 2.25" wide. The blade alone measures about 11" long. The "Winged Cheub" repousse head & the other fine detailed scrollwork etc. is on BOTH sides of the handle...a sure sign of its exceptional quality! The page turner is marked on the handle (just below the hilt) with three English hallmarks...the "Lion Passant" for Sterling, the "Leopard's Head" for London & the capital "C" for the year 1898...see picture. The overall condition of the page turner/bookmark is quite good. T are no dents or dings in the sterling silver handle. The sterling portion could use a bit of polish if desired. I never polish my vintage silver I put up for auction, since some like the natural patina & some like their silver bright & shiny. This way it's YOUR CHOICE! The celluloid blade does show some fine scratches & surface scuffs & t & some nibbles to the blade edge.
