M 1898 Original PeriodSpanish-American War Uniform, Original period khaki M 1898 tunic or blouse with removable belt and white pants. Belt has steel ring back removable brass buttons marked Steele & Johnson, large buttons also steel ring removable style marked Horstman, Phila. Buttons appear to be a mix of these 2 companies, pocket and shoulder tabs have or had (shoulder tab buttons are missing) sewn on type buttons, also 2 large buttons are missing. Tunic and belt are otherwise in very good condition for it's age. Tunis is unmarked by manufacturer but does have stitched personal I.D., (J.D., I-* +) at back of stand up collar. Original white pants have overall “foxing” just like in a very old book. Carved bone buttons are missing off of back pockets, in the picture you will notice the fly has 2 large and 2 small buttons I believe smaller buttons were removed from back pockets to fly for quick repair. Trousers are otherwise in very good condition. Uniform is clean with no fowl odor. My Grandfather was a Spanish-American War Veteran being in the second wave landing at Cuba, he saw little or no action, this not his uniform but I do have a few of his personal military effects. SERIOUS BIDDERS I will send pictures to your email if you would like to see the photos larger than ebay free photos allows. Buyer to prepay plus shipping/handling read more
