1899 CRESCENT SHAFT DRIVEN LADIES BICYCLE, No Reserve!

Turn-of-the-century, investment-grade bicycle. This precision-built machine is in excellent overall condition. The bevel gear drive is as s-m-o-o-t-h as silk and works flawlessly. The rear gear set look like new! The wood rims are remarkably true and in GREAT condition. The handlebars are straight. The left grip has been replaced years ago, the right grip is O.E.M. laminated leather with a wooden end plug. The front button tread tire is a "Chicago Husky Boy" and was supplied by Chicago Cycle Supply, Chicago, Illinois. The rim size is 1-1/2" x 28". The wheel set is excellent and needs nothing to be put back into service. The crank assembly and pedals are original to this bicycle. The head badge is in mint condition and identifies this unique one-of-a-kind shaft drive bicycle as a Crescent No. 18 as produced by Western Wheel Works; Chicago, Illinois. This bicycle is incredibly light and nimble. In short, you will be well pleased. The frame has been repainted years ago.
