1899 The Century Co Atlas maps of South America (4 maps): South America, South America, North-west Part., South America, Eastern Part., South America, Southern Part.( Original Antique Lithograph Map, Color)The Century Co. is the publisher, Maps are from The Century Atlas of the World, cartographer is Matthews-Northrup Co., Printed lithograph, color, measures 15 x 10 (38 x 25 cm ) for each of the four maps, maps are VG+ condition, centerfold as issued. From one of the most underrated atlases of the late 19th, early 20th century. Excellent quality, very detailed with topography. Dated 1897 on the map but from the 1899 Atlas. Title describes the portions of South America that is shown on each of the maps. Each of the maps has population and symbol table under the title block. South America has two small insets on each set, right side " Trinidad", left side " Galapagos Is.". Upper right corner " The Isthmus of Panama". The South America, North-West Part, has a text box, " Translation of Spanish and Portuguese words:". South America Eastern Part has a very large inset, upper right corner " Rio De Janeiro and Vicinity. South America, Southern Part, has two nice sized insets, lower right corner " Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Vicinity" and Valparaiso, Santiago and Vicinity".
