This is a stunning pair of hand painted porcelain street musician figurines. They are heavy for their size si I'm thinking they are polychrome porcelain. They are handpainted in beautiful cobalt blue & light blue clothes with many gold accents. Their faces are just beautiful. They are of very fine quality with attention to detail; look at his bare knee showing thru his torn pant leg, and the hole in the other pant leg. I don't know what their musical instruments are, they are obviously a very old type of instrument. Although they are quite striking on display, t is damage that the buyer may wish to have restored. She has 4 chipped fingers on her right hand and one on her left. he is missing his left hand, his right pinkie finger and a part of the instrument in that area. He also has a chip in his nose. They are marked on the bottom with the mark for Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanfabrik Triebner Ens & Eckert (1877-1894) . They also both have an impressed number 11. They measure about 7.5" high. Please see my other beautiful figurines.
