You are bidding on a very old Ivory and Silver Bracelet. is what I know. It is old...really old. So old in fact that they used resin or some other type of material to plug the hinges with. They took two sharp metal pins and put them in each of the hinges, then filled it with this material and let it harden around it. The main stone is also set using the same material. I had trouble dating it this piece, a lot of trouble, and then someone told me, look at the imperfections. Look at the silver work and look how none of it looks anything like todays silver, it looks unfinished almost, not perfect, obviously all hand tooled, hammered out, and wrapped by hand. I have also thought maybe the material isn't resin poured in, but maybe molten iron, or lead maybe.Nothing looks cast, everything looks to be done by hand including the stopper for the back hinge. It is hand tooled and crimped by hand to keep the hinge from falling out or getting lost. It has 26 cut pieces of ivory, which kind I don't know I am not an ivory expert. I would guess elephant, it almost has an Indian feeling to me. It has a deep dark brown stone and the whole impression to me says Indian, but again I could be way off.
