Sankaat is very pleased to present for your consideration this Large Superb Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose Punch Bowl! Dating to the last quarter of the 18th century, this punch bowl is decorated with a appealing Famille Rose decoration which is accented by the scarce (and very desireable) Bianco Sopara Bianco motifs (White Enamel decoration directly on the white porcelain!). Such CEP wares are scarce to find and when they are encountered they are normally in the form of plates. A large punch bowl with this type of decoration is truly a very hard specimen to find! Measuring 10.25 by 5 inches this punch bowl is in very good condition for its age and scarcity. T is some minor rim flaking (some touch up was done at some time to the gilding) and only three tight hairlines, which certainly do not detract from this piece, nor do they threaten the stability and functionality of this fine example! This would be ideal for the serious Oriental Hard Paste (Export Porcelain) collector or for the quality and appearance conscious host (hostess)! Thank you very much for viewing this auction.
