A rare original engraving on antique laid paper showing a plan of the City of Washington , as envisaged as the Permanent Residence of Congress after the year 1800. This was engraved by B Baker of Islington in London and published by W Bent in 1793, according to the subscription. Condition is as found. T are two tears (which I have indicated in the photos). You should also see that t is a portion of the righthand margin missing. T is off-setting (as is usual) and some minor foxing. Finally, t is a small split at one of the folds. Nevertheless, this is a rare, museum quality plan which I am offering at a very fair price in view of its condition.
