A rare original engraving on antique laid paper showing a plan of the City of Washington , as envisaged as the Permanent Residence of Congress after the year 1800. This was engraved by B Baker of Islington in London and published by W Bent in 1793, according to the subscription. Condition is as found. T are two tears (which I have indicated in the photos). You should also see that t is a portion of the righthand margin missing. T is off-setting (as is usual) and some minor foxing. Finally, t is a small split at one of the folds. Nevertheless, this is a rare, museum quality plan which I am offering at a very fair price in view of its condition. SIZE : 12.75 x 14.75 inches (overall) P&P: UK 3/$5; OVERSEAS: EUROPE $8; USA & REST OF WORLD $10 (insured & signed for) PAYMENT BY STERLING CHEQUE FROM UK BUYERS, PLEASE.
