This auction is for a brand new copy of Jim Jacob's book titled "Building the Pirogue". This book is a detailed guide to building a working 18th century style boat that is simple, easy to build, and easy to operate. The plans are detailed and include variations for different widths and/or lengths. This boat can be built in one weekend using two sheets of plywood, or can be a more involved project using planks for a completely historical boat. You'll be on the water in no time! Though perfect for reenactors, this boat works well for modern use too. It is a cheap, easy, lightweight cousin to the canoe and you can take pride in the fact that you built it yourself!
