19-1/2" REGIMENTAL SCOTTISH DIRK DAGGER w KNIFE & FORK

You are bidding on a 17-3/4" REGIMENTAL SCOTTISH DIRK DAGGER with KNIFE, FORK and SCABBARD. The blade itself is 12", overall length with scabbard is 19-1/2". Knife is 6-3/4" long and folk is 6" long. I picked this up in the Royal Mile, Edinburgh, Scotland, 2002 at the Woolen Factory right outside Edinburgh Castle. The informaton I have on this Dirk was a combination of what they told me at the shop, and what I found in detail on-line. The information I have on the Regimental Dirk was that it was worn from the mid-19th century onwards. The silver mounted versions were favored by officers of militia regiments and pipe majors, though t were many exceptions to this rule. The blades are fileworked in a scalloped pattern. A suspension loop is provided on the leather-covered scabbard. Check out my photos. I am original owner and will be selling other it ems in the coming weeks! Check out my other auctions!
