19 1925 LA JOLLA CALIFORNIA PHOTOS + TORREY PINES PC All of my California photographs are from the personal collection of F. Morrison Boyd. Mr. Boyd was the road scout for the American Automobile Association in the 1920's, as well as an avid photographer. These are NOT reprints. You are purchasing one-of-a-kind original photographs. Purchasers will also be sent a copy of a newspaper clipping describing Mr. Boyd's exploits on a 37,000-mile road trip over the highways of the United States, Mexico, and Canada in 1925. Mr. Boyd was accompanied on the journey by his wife and dog, Tex, traveling in a specially-built Chrysler Coach. Six compartments were built on the inside of the car, and five trunks were carried on the outside of the car, in which were stored twelve suitcases stuffed with clothing, extra parts for the car, tools, umbrellas, golf clubs, and a four-day emergency supply of food. Equipment included eleven special lights, altimeter, grademeter, compasses, recording speedometer, outside and inside thermometers, road logging machines, electric fan, vacuum cleaner, electric heater, typewriter, adding machine, Victrola, and 'all sorts of scientific instruments'.Number one shown here is actually a postcard from Mr. Boyd's collection of 'Torrey Pines Lodge, near La Jolla'.The first photo measures 2 3/4 x 5 5/8.Photo #2 measures read more
