1900 $20 Liberty : Old and Rare Gold Minted in the United States 113 Years Ago! Liberty Head Gold Double Eagles were issued from 1850 to 1907. The $20 Liberty presented here was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, the first of which was built in 1792 when Philadelphia was the nation’s capitol. Minted in 1900 this coin endured 113 years to finally come to rest in the PCGS holder you see pictured. According to authoritative sources there were 1,874,460 minted. Of those, dramatically fewer are estimated to have survived to this day, with less than 100,000 graded by PCGS and NGC, the two premier coin certification companies in the world today. PCGS certification has awarded this survivor a grade of MS62. Strike is excellent, details are superb, and the surfaces are reflective and lustrous. A very light gold toning suffuses the peripheral areas contributing a certain authenticity to the vintage character of the coin, while a layer of lingering frost lends it a fresh luminescence . For the grade, coin is remarkably free of distracting contact marks. There are absolutely no copper or carbon spots. It is an attractive specimen. E xamine the pictures.
