This is an ORIGINAL souvenir of the Populist Party National Convention held in Sioux Falls South Dakota May 9th 1900 to nominate William Jennings Bryan for President. It is a slab of local Sioux Quartzite polished and acid etched with Jennings portrait and SOUVENIR W.J. BRYAN SIOUX FALLS. S.D. MAY. 9. 1900. This was most likely produced in Sioux Falls. It is in excellent original condition with brown felt glued to the bottom. Slab weighs 17 ounces and is 3.5 inches by 2.5 and 1 inch thick. T were numerous quarries of the rock locally and a large polishing company in town at the time. I doubt many of these were sold at the time being that they were hard to see unless you turned them to the light. The dark areas of the portrait and the lettering are w the polished surface was eaten away to the unpolished rock surface.
I accept MO or personal check and shipping is $6.00
