You are bidding on a nice old "good for" trade token likely used in trade (likely at a saloon or bar) located in the town of Bishop California Bishop is located in historic Inyo County......these old tokens from Inyo county are so tough to find today!! The old 1900's denomination of 12 1/2 cents (one bit, ie; 2 bits equal a quarter) was often used in old saloons or bars.....a "bit" token at establishment run by "VONDY" probably would have bought a back bar whisky drink or quality humidor cigar...where a nickel token back in the day got you a "house blend" drink or cheap bulk cigar. Trade token is brass, 8 lobed, about 28mm in diameter, and it has strong features, and displays nicely (please see pictures in gallery) One side says : " VONDY (fancy pictorial) BISHOP. CAL. " Other side says " GOOD FOR 12 1/2c IN TRADE " Often these "trade tokens" are found in "dug" condition...this is a wonderful problem-free specimen.
