You are bidding on an ATTRACTIVE and OLD (believe 1920s or 1930s) celluloid advertising tape measure, once issued for " GOLDSMITH & WEBER WHOLESALE FURS " which had main located on 208 Post Street in San Francisco California. This tape measure also mentions a "branch" location in the Loews State Building in Los Angeles California These old celluloid advertising items can be collectible on many levels...1) advertising 2) celluloid collectible 3) SF or LA collectible...and a nice "go with" for a token or medal collector. Often these old celluloid items are stained or cracked, this one seem beautiful, and the tape still retracts back into the case. Seems in terrific condition. Advertising tape measure is celluloid, round, cream with black writing, about 43mm in diameter x 11mm thick (bit larger than silver dollar), and it displays nicely. (please see pictures in gallery) Can find no damage or cracks. Note that this old token has its "J.B. CARROLL CO. CHI" maker marks on both edges. One side says : " TEL GARFIELD 6426 GOLDSMITH & WEBER WHOLESALE FURS 209 POST STREET SAN FRANCISCO, CAL. --- BRANCH LOEWS STATE BLDG, LOS ANGELES, CAL. " Other side says " (both sides identical) " A beautiful old advertising celluloid rule / tape measure from a wholesale fur dealer in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
