This is an English Royal Doulton sugar bowl with lid. It is from the Watchman pattern and says "Watchman What of the Night? on one side. It has watchmen walking around the piece with rope handles and a lid with a pointed knop. It is fully marked on the base with the Royal Doulton trademark and the English Registration number 383656, dating it to 1901. It is in excellent condition with no dings, chips, cracks or repairs. There is some very light unstained crazing on the bottom. It is about 6" across from handle to handle and 4 & 5/8" tall with the lid on. A very nice old piece.
