You are bidding on a complete, 21-volume 2nd edition set of The New International Encyclopedia , first published in 1902 and updated for this 1906 set. Here is a bit more: Book Description: Dodd, Mead and Company, New York, 1906. 3/4 Leather. Book Condition: Good Dust Jacket Condition: No Jackets. Over 100 Color & b/w Illustrations / Plates; Over 500 Text Illustrations (illustrator). Second Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Interesting fine-bound turn-of-the-20th century compilation (dates from 1903 to 1906 on title pages); notable for the folding color map of the world (in 2 hemispheres) as the frontispiece to the first volume, and for the illustrative material throughout. 21 volumes complete; bound uniformly in 3/4 dark brown morocco over dark green marbled boards, spines stamped . There is notable damage to volumes VII (heavily rubbed spine), XIX (loose and torn binding, still holds but is very loose and damaged), and XX (very heavily rubbed spine and torn binding on the edges). For a second edition complete set over 100 years old, this is an INCREDIBLE FIND. This set was discovered in sealed, rubber tubs in the attic of a house and these volumes have never suffered any water or sun damage whatsoever. Look around the net and try to find this complete set anywhere: you'd be hard pressed to find a better set at a better price. read more
